Christmas Programme

23 December
Arrive during the afternoon to tea and hot mince pies in the lounge, warming you from the winter air. We will ensure that you are comfortably settled in for the forthcoming festivities. Join us at 6.30pm in the lounge for a glass of wine and canapes, an opportunity to meet with us and your fellow guests. The evening commences from 7.00pm in the Starlite room, with its magnificent views across the sweep of our bay, when dinner is served followed by an evening's dancing and entertainment.

24 December - Christmas Eve
A Traditional English Breakfast will be served between 8.00am and 10.00am. Spend the morning at ease, unwinding in the leisure facilities. Relax in the  bubbles of the spa, soothe in the sauna or take and invigorating dip in our indoor pool. A light lunch buffet lunch of hot and cold snacks will be available from 12.45pm followed by an afternoon free to do your last minute shopping in the Old Village or a chance to explore the frozen beauty of our wonderful Island. Arrive back at the hotel in time for afternoon tea. From 6.30pm enjoy local carol singers in the marbled foyer welcoming the beginning of Christmas. We invite you to a  Christmas Eve candlelight dinner from 7.00 pm in the Starlite room followed by entertainment until 11.30pm. Midnight mass at the local churches in Shanklin. We welcome you back with a hot toddy before bed.

25 December - Christmas Day
A relaxed breakfast is served in the restaurant between 8.00am and 9.30am. Leave the hotel at 10.00am for the Shanklin Hotel treasure hunt - nothing too strenuous, just a gentle cliff top stroll working up an appetite for luncheon. Champagne Cocktails are served in the foyer at 12noon, listening to your favourite Christmas Carols as Father Christmas arrives with your Christmas gifts. At 1pm the magnificent traditional Christmas luncheon will be served in the restaurant; a banquet menu prepared by our chefs for your absolute enjoyment with decorations to match. An afternoon to relax after lunch in the lounge or watch the Queens speech. An afternoon tea is served with the chefs christmas cake as our Christmas magician will perform some table magic in the lounge for your delight. The culmination of your Christmas day will be in the Starlite room and a christmas night buffet with an evening of entertainment for your dancing and listening pleasure.

26 December - Boxing Day
Traditional English Breakfast will be served from 8.00am to 9.30am. Spend the morning exploring our wonderful Island! We have arranged a coach tour of the Island taking in the frozen beauty of the coastline as you are transported around the Eastern Wight and the picturesque Bembridge Harbour. We stop at a local vineyard where we have arranged a tour and a tasting, sampling wine that was chosen for her majesty's Golden Jubilee banquet. We continue our tour as we travel up on to the downs and, weather permitting, you will be greeted with a glass of mulled wine and the most spectacular view of the panorama of our bay, looking across the valley of Arreton. Arrive back for the Grand Boxing Day carved buffet served by our chefs from 1.30pm in the restaurant. An afternoon to join in with brainteasers, quizzes and Christmas games during which afternoon tea will be served in the lounge. Your  farewell Gala evening commences from 6.45pm with a glass of pink champagne. A candlelight dinner is served and then dance the night away in the Starlite room to our resident entertainment.

27 December
Breakfast will be served from 7.30am until 9.30am prior to your departure and a 'Fond Farewell' .


New Year Programme

29 December
Enjoy pre-dinner drinks before meeting your fellow guests at Dinner followed by an evening of entertainment and dancing until midnight.

30 December
Traditional English Breakfast served in the restaurant. A morning free to enjoy the facilities of the hotel, or spend some time taking in the sights of Shanklin or exploring our wonderful Island. Afternoon tea is served in the lounge, with a chance to take part in the competitions and quizzes, some prizes to be won, some just for fun.
Dinner in the Starlite Room followed by an evening of entertainment until midnight.

31 December - New Year's Eve
Begin the last day of the 'old year' with a hearty breakfast followed by the Treasure Hunt- nothing too strenuous, a morning stroll. An informal afternoon to relax, discover some local haunts and get ready for the night ahead.

The start of a momentous evening to celebrate the arrival of the New Year, we invite you to join us in the lounge bar for a glass of champagne prior to your banquet menu. A full evening of entertainment a dancing followed by a champagne toast for the start of the year and a nip of whisky for your first footing at midnight. We will be partying into the early hours with more music and dancing for your enjoyment. A buffet will be served at 12:30am ensuring your energy levels are recharged enabling you to continue with the festivities.

1 January - New Year's Day
For early risers, Bucks Fizz and a Continental Breakfast are served in the lounge from 9:00am. For those who are feeling a little more 'fragile' - Bucks Fizz followed by Brunch in the Restaurant from 10:30am - 2:00pm.

7:00pm is the first dinner of the New Year followed by your final evening of music, entertainment and dancing.

2 January
A leisurely breakfast before you say your Fond Farewells.
